Lon C. Arneson, O.D.

DrLonArneson8-12Dr. Arneson was born and raised in small-town South Dakota. He attended Augustana College, Sioux Falls, SD and graduated with honors from the University of Houston College of Optometry, Houston, Texas in 1976.

Following graduation, Dr. Arneson served in the U.S. Navy at a clinic in Washington, D. C. for two years, then practiced in suburban Minneapolis-St. Paul before moving to Chippewa Falls in 1981. He has practiced in the same downtown location since that time. Dr. Arneson’s practice emphasis is on primary care optometry, with interests in contact lenses, eye disease management, and laser vision comanagement.

Civic volunteer involvement includes board of directors of Chippewa Rotary Club, United Way, Chamber of Commerce, YMCA, and Optimist Club, and membership in Elks and Lions Clubs. Professional organizations include board of directors of Wisconsin Optometric Association, and president of Indianhead Optometric Society. He is also a Vision Source administrator.

In addition, Dr. Arneson has participated in several eye mission to underserved countries. He has served in Mexico and Guatemala, and more recently helped lead eye missions to Dominican Republic and Malawi, Africa.

Dr. Arneson lives in Chippewa Falls with his wife Dr. Denise Glantz Arneson and daughter Carly. He has adult twin daughters, Ingrid and Gretchen who live in Chippewa Falls and Madison. He is a member of Central Lutheran Church and plays bass guitar and sings in their worship band. Outdoor activities are among his hobbies, including fishing, hunting, golf, and skiing.


Denise Glantz Arneson, O.D.

DrDeniseArneson8-12Dr. Denise grew up in Rochester, MN and graduated from John Marshall High School in 1986. She attended the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire, earned a bachelor of science degree and graduated with honors in 1990. She then attended The Ohio State University College of Optometry and graduated second in her class with a doctor of optometry degree in 1994.

At OSU, Dr. Denise earned 3 scholarships and the Ciba Vision Contact Lens Achievement Award. She was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa, the optometric honor society, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and was the student representative for the college clinic committee.

Following graduation, Dr. Denise practiced optometry in Cincinnati OH for 2 years. She then moved back to Wisconsin and joined Dr. Arneson in 1996. Dr. Denise enjoys seeing patients of all ages, fitting the latest contact lenses, and treating eye diseases. She also enjoys trying to keep up with new technology and making sure the office has all the latest equipment.

Dr. Denise is a member of the Indianhead Optometric Society, the Wisconsin Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, and volunteers her services to the Open Door Clinic in Chippewa Falls.

Dr. Denise lives in Chippewa Falls with her husband Dr. Lon Arneson and daughter Carly. She is a member of Central Lutheran Church and enjoys fishing, cooking, reading, traveling and surfing (the web, that is!).


Stanley Office

Syndi – Optometric Technician/ Billing

IMG_0060Syndi has an Associates Degree in accounting through Chippewa Valley Technical College, and a Technical Degree as an Optometric Technician through Madison Technical College.

Syndi can help you with all of your insurance and billing needs as well as an expert in frame fitting and adjusting in our Stanley office.

Michelle – Optician

Michelle has been with Northwoods Family Eyecare for over 12 years.  She is an expert in frame fitting and adjusting.


 


Bridgette – Optician

Bridgette is an ABO Certified Optician and has been in the optical field for over 19 years.  She has been with Northwoods for 6 years now and is an expert in frame fitting and glasses adjustments.  She also has a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish.
